The forcast was good with only a fresh wind to think about,Andy Beavers and myself had never met yet so he agreed to meet me and Jamie at the Carpark,Friday morning Matt Holland had come over late Thursday so we aranged to meet somewhere on the ridge from Rosthwaite fell too Allan crags,it was a stunning day to be out Also along on her first proper backpack trip was Maggie dog,who was very well behaved,even if she lacks Oscars loyalty,in walking partners One plan had been to camp on Great End summit again,but the wind would have made chatting hard work so we had a mooch about and found a nice shelf,near Allen cargs summit The first shelf wasnt big enough for all of us so Jamie and Andy pitched there Duomids there,while me,Maggie and Matt went a little higher in my Scarp1 and Matts MLD Solomid We had a nice sunset,but a full moon washed out the starry skies.Through the night the wind moved round some more,giving me and Matt some nice 30-45mph gusts,but Saturday started out stunnin
So we come to the end of another strange year,Covid and some family stuff has affected 2021 ,so less camps than normal The first didn't come till the 2nd of April where after a "Brain fart" i used a Nallo 2 i bought over the Christmas break.We walked over the Coniston fells and had a night on top of Grey Friar,returning the same way the next day Next one came on 17 th April and a camp on the summit of Great End again after collecting some Wainwrights for my brother End of April and a steep pull up saw us camp on Middle Fell The 2 nd night saw us pitched up on Yewbarrow followed by a very wet and windy walk down the next morning The 5 th camp came on Hart crag summit on the 14th May The end of May saw us on the Bhein a Ghlo munro over 3 nights and an interesting walk through the Star wars set on day 2 An old ruined farm house gave us some flat ground for the last nights.I first did these hills in Feb 1993 when me and a friend snow holed in a huge drift between two o
